Groundbreaking Ceremony Marks the Start of Construction of Bulgaria’s Seventh XOPark

XOPark Stara Zagora is set to open in autumn 2027, offering 20,700 sq m of retail space and the city’s first Fantastico supermarket.

Stara Zagora, 22 November 2026 – Trinity Capital has officially launched construction of XOPark Stara Zagora at a groundbreaking ceremony attended by the city’s mayor, Zhivko Todorov, representatives of the local administration, the business community and the public. The seventh development in the national XOPark retail parks chain is scheduled to open in autumn 2027.

Located at the intersection of Kaloyanovsko Shose Boulevard and Anastasia Tosheva Street, XOPark Stara Zagora will offer visitors convenient access, 560 parking spaces, electric vehicle charging stations, a children’s playground and plenty of reasons to visit. With 20,700 sq m of retail space spread across 26 units, the complex will offer residents and visitors of the city a thoughtfully selected mix of leading international and Bulgarian brands across food and beverages, fashion and footwear, sports and children’s goods, furniture and homeware, electronics, accessories, health and beauty, and other categories, alongside a wide range of services. Several brands will make their debut in Stara Zagora namely in XOPark Stara Zagora.

A key highlight of the development will be Fantastico, the Bulgarian family-owned supermarket chain. Spanning 4,000 sq m, the store will be the chain’s first in the city, offering more than 20,000 products, a range of additional services and a modern shopping environment.

We believe this project will contribute to the development of Stara Zagora’s retail landscape and give future customers even greater choice, quality and convenience. Fantastico welcomes opportunities to work with local producers, enabling us to offer our customers an even wider selection of regional products, shared Todor Levenov, Director of Expansion and Property Management at Fantastico Group.

A distinctive feature of XOPark Stara Zagora will be the Agora, a signature element of all XOPark retail parks developed by Trinity Capital. It reflects the investor’s ambition to combine the functionality of a modern retail environment with spaces and amenities designed around people’s needs. Conceived as a hub for meeting, socialising and relaxation, the Agora will provide a place for people to spend time with family and friends and take part in a variety of events and initiatives. It will also serve as a platform for local businesses, giving entrepreneurs and small-scale producers an opportunity to showcase their products and services, reach a wider audience and develop their ideas.

Projects like this create opportunities for local economic development. XOPark Stara Zagora will expand the choice of goods and services available to residents of the city and the surrounding region, help create new jobs and attract established Bulgarian and international brands, said Zhivko Todorov, Mayor of Stara Zagora.

We are delighted that a modern retail park will be developed on a site that has stood unused for many years, meeting a long-standing need in Stara Zagora. The plot was privatised in 2007 and remained undeveloped until Trinity Capital acquired it in 2025, with no investment made in the intervening years, commented Stoyan Kolev, CEO of Trinity Capital. For us, the development of XOPark goes beyond creating new retail space that strengthens the local economy. We invest in projects that broaden consumer choice, attract new businesses and create opportunities for local communities to thrive. We believe that a modern retail park should offer more than convenience and variety: it should create an environment where people and businesses find real value.
